Full Review

This snazzy, jazzy slot machine game is just full of soul. Set against the wall of a dark and funky jazz club, The Jazz Club slot machine game uses neon lighted icons to set the mood, and has a decent ambiance running through it. There are lots of special features in this slot game, and there aren’t too many symbols used on the reels. This can only be a plus, as slots with a multitude of symbols generally offer less chance of bagging a top paying 5 of a kind payline. The Jazz Club isn’t the most visually impressive slot game we’ve seen, the graphics are alright. But the theme and design is better than most similar themed slots.

How to play The Jazz Club online

This slot machine isn’t one of the more common Playtech slots, but it certainly can be found in some Playtech powered casinos, and there are a lot of those at least. Containing 5 reels and with 25 paylines that players can adjust as they see fit, this slot is customisable for the gamer. Line bets vary from £0.20 to £500 per line, with the minimum wager being £0.20 per line, per spin. The top wager n this slot machine is a maximum of £12,500 per spin! That is simply insane money, which surely nobody in their right mind would stake?

There aren’t too many icons to fluster you in this slot. Aside from the jazz player, which we will come to later on, the musical note and alcoholic drink are decent paying icons, as are cellist and the pianist icons. Lower paying icons in this slot include the 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace icons, which are represented in that aforementioned neon glow.

The Jazz Club bonus features

There is a scatter icon this slot, though it is also used as a bonus icon. The Jazz Club logo is such a symbol. These icons are counted as valid wherever they appear on the reels, so gamers don’t necessarily have to hit them on a payline for them to be useful. 2 of the icons will offer a 2x total bet multiplier. Players, who bag three or more of the icons, will win 14 free spins in the Jazz Solo bonus round.

3 of the scatter icons will also offer a 5x multiplier, with there are multipliers of 20x and 100x the total bet, for bagging 4 or 5 of the scatter symbols, respectively.

The wild symbol

The wild symbol only appears on the reels 2, 3 and 4, and takes on the shape of a microphone in front of a star. The wild icon in this slot is an expanding wild in the free games bonus round. In standard play, the wild symbol substitutes itself for all symbols, except for scatter/bonus icons.

The Jazz Solo Bonus

This bonus round, as we’ve seen, is triggered when a player has three or more scatter icons. For the free spins round, a player must choose from three symbols. The saxophonist offers 10 free games. The cellist offers 14 free games with a 2x multiplier, and the pianist offers 7 free games with a 4x multiplier. Once the player has made their choice, the free spins bonus round begins.

In the Jazz Solo bonus round, the symbol the player has chosen will replace the two symbols that have no been chosen. The wild icon also becomes an expanding wild during the Jazz Solo bonus round. Free spins cannot be retriggered during the bonus round.

The Jazz Club jackpot

The jackpot in this slot machine game is rather simple to grasp. The saxophonist is the biggest paying symbol in the game; you see, we told you we’d come back to him! The saxophonist will pay out 6 coins for 2 icons, and 50 coins for 3 icons. Players who bag 4 of the saxophonist icons will win 500 coins, whilst the top jackpot of 5,000 coins is available for players who pull of 5 of the saxophonist icon on a payline.

Other notes on The Jazz Club

As far as jazz themed slots go, this is one of the finer titles, with plenty of goodies galore. The bonus round is simple enough to trigger, and the expanding wilds in the bonus round are a real nice touch. All of the symbols in this game are worth at least 100 coins if 5 are struck on a payline, which is significantly more than in other slots.

Yes, the graphics aren’t the best we’ve ever seen, but they will suffice just nicely when it comes to what this slot is designed to be, which is a simple, good natured and quick-draw slot machine game.

The biggest problem here though is that maximum wager. A maximum wager of £12,500 is absolutely ridiculous, no matter how much money you have. This makes it a high rollers game, and therefore understandable as to why it might not have succeeded as well as Playtech has hoped amongst in gaming market.
